Yeah, this free Chrome browser extension is just a dictionary, but one heck of a convenient one for Chrome users, which, last I checked, is 70% of the whole freaking marketplace. And it works with any actual text you can see on that browser (aka practically everything).
See a word, double-click on it, out pops a small bubble with the word’s definition. There’s even a speaker icon next to the word in the bubble; click on it, and hear how the word is pronounced. All that’d be more than good enough, but it also translates foreign words. You’ll still be on the same webpage you’re reading, not off on some other tab rabbit hole, letting you quickly resume reading as if nothing happened.
It’s a no-brainer must-have tool for anyone who works with words, frankly.
