Amazon’s a business. It will promote products that sell, and if your self-published Kindle ebook has no buyers, why would you think Amazon will promote it? It will promote and feature all the other titles—your competition—that it knows will sell. They’re not dumb.

And no, it’s not unfair. Amazon’s already doing you a massive favor by letting you sell on its huge platform at no cost, right next to the big guys.

It’s up to you to get your title some traction in the marketplace through book marketing efforts. The great news is, once your title’s starting to make Amazon money, they automatically step up and start pushing your work!
