Note
Oodles have already been said about the need for a good cover design for your book, so won’t rehash all that here. Except for these two business factors, which surprisingly don’t get mentioned often enough.
Your book looks legit. As I like to say, “Your book cover design doesn’t have to win awards, but it better look like it’s worth the reader’s time and money. Guess what a crappy amateurish cover tells them.” And…
Your book has competition. Lots of people neglect to consider this for some reason. Your book isn’t selling in a vacuum. It’s not the only book on the shelf or display table. If you think a book with a crappy amateurish cover stands a chance up against dozens of other titles with professional-looking cover designs, um, good luck to you. You’ll need lots of it.
Getting a pro job done isn’t even that costly. Here, check out the book cover designers over at Fiverr.
