You’ve got a blog, and now you’re looking for one or more ideas on how to make money with it (no one said you can only do one!). Here you go. Let’s start with the basics.
Pay-Per-Click (PPC) Advertising Networks
Join an advertising network—Google AdSense it the largest and most popular—and it’ll feed and place ads on your blog relevant to your content.
You make money when someone clicks on an ad.
There are other networks out there, some that may even specialize in advertisements for your niche.
Companies have affiliate programs you can join where they pay you for sales or leads coming from marketing on your blog (usually banner ads). Pay can be a percentage of sales, a flat rate, PPC, etc., depending on the company and deal you join.
Activity is tracked through unique affiliate links.
There are a variety of ways to promote affiliate links on your blog, like banner advertising or even as editorial copy in your blog posts (e.g., reviews, recommendations, mentions, etc.).
The company decides what method(s) you can use.
Some companies like Amazon run their own affiliate programs, or are part of an affiliate network like ShareASale that lets you choose which companies and programs to join from one place.
Create and sell downloadable ebooks, reports, cheatsheets, checklists, and other infoproducts of interest and alue to your blog’s niche audience.
The Adobe Acrobat PDF format is great for this.
Selling infoproducts can be quite lucrative. So much so that some bloggers have become infoproduct publishers, and have set up affiliate programs (see above) that pay commissions to 3rd party affiliates for sending new blog readers and prospective customers their way.
