Even more ways writers make money on the Internet. Some ar pretty clever and likely “new” to you. Maybe they’ll stimulate ideas for any gigs you could try yourself!
Someone has to write a lot of the marketing and promotional content we see online! A specialized form of writing, they are ubiquitous, and can even be categorized into numerous subspecialties.
Entry into their ranks is comparatively easier, with the demand for good copywriters consistent and high, so much so that exceptional ones can command very impressive rates!
Create/Produce an Online Course
Create a course and “teach” students just about any specialized topic you know a lot about, selling it through sites like Udemy, or even through your own website or blog.
You can also team up with an expert on a topic you know little about but who may not write well enough, create and help run the course, and split the profits, giving you both income you would otherwise not have!
Publish “Low-Cost” Special Reports
Write and publish short PDF “reports” (about 6-8 pages) with highly specialized information, which should be fairly quick and easy to pump out, and sell them through your website/blog at a very low impulsive price (e.g., $5-7).
This would be a great ancillary revenue stream for a blog or ezine, or if you already have an audience (like a social media following). You can also try searching for and focusing on relatively unserved niche target markets; they definitely exist.
Some non-fiction authors have broken up a finished book manuscript into many special reports to sell this way for significantly more profit!
