It’s no secret that there’s money to be made (and sometimes, very good money) in buying and selling domain names. .COM domains in particular. It’s also no secret that I use GoDaddy for domain registrations — cheap (with coupon codes, I regularly get .COM’s for $7.49 each) and reliable. In most cases, that’s the only resource I tap. But I’ve come to rely on a number of free third party tools and services to help as needed.
The thing about tools is that we get comfortable and familiar with them, and there’s a tendency to not give much attention to new ones that pop up, especially among folks like me who like to diddle around with many different things, not particularly focused on just one professional activity. Not taking a look around to see what’s new is obviously not a good thing, so I make it a point to “do a meerkat” periodically for the useful (and free!).
