FREE: I'm Giving Away a Book a Week!

November 11, 2011 Wordpreneur 9 Comments

GOAL: To give away a free copy of my Kindle book, Wordpreneur WordCash Notebook each week until whenever!

PRIZE:  Just in case the above wasn’t clue enough, it’s a copy of my Wordpreneur WordCash Notebook, my full-sized book of over 56,000 words full of:

• Wordpreneur Ideas
• Business & Publishing Info
• Wordpreneur Tools
• Writing & Freelancing Tips

,,.and more! It’s selling for $3.99 on Amazon for its Kindle ereader, but again, you don’t need a Kindle to read it, so really, this giveaway is open to everyone!

WHEN: Every Friday. I want to give away one book. Oh, wait, today’s Friday, isn’t it? OK, for our very first give away date — next week, Friday, November 18 — I’ll give away two (2) books! Now here are the instructions…

THE SO-GOSH-DARNED-EASY-I-DON’T-KNOW-WHY-I-BOTHER-TO-WRITE-THESE-DOWN INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Create a link to Wordpreneur. To the Wordpreneur home page or to any post dated 2010 on up. You can put the link up on your blog, website, or even in a Twitter tweet, Facebook status post, blog comment or forum entry you make elsewhere (such as, “Hey, guess what, Wordpreneur is giving away free copies of Wordpreneur WordCash Notebook. Here’s the link for more info…” — now there’s an idea!). The only requirement is that it has to be a legitimate link. You’re smart and you know exactly what that is — besides, the way this system’s set up, I end up checking them all anyway, and with me being the final judge on what’s legit, this is a non-issue for me to enforce.
  2. Come back to this post and comment below, giving a link to where you put the Wordpreneur link you made in step 1. This will be your “contest entry.” The WordPress system may “hold your comment for moderation” (sorry about that… had to enable that because of the damn comment spammers), but not to worry. I am notified about and check the comment queue regularly.
  3. You can enter multiple times and increase your chances! Different, unique Wordpreneur link back with each entry, of course, but if you, say, go to different blogs and forums and link back to Wordpreneur from each, or repeatedly Tweet about different Wordpreneur posts, every one of those would be a different, unique entry! Just do step 2 as many times as needed, and each separate comment would become a separate entry.
  4. That’s it! Come Friday, I’ve got a neat plugin that will automatically pick out a winner from among the comments, and the cycle will start anew for another free book giveaway!

Every week, I’ll announce the winner in a post and provide info for the next week’s contest, and you all can begin submitting your “comment” entries on that post for the next contest. Now that I’m thinking about it, I’ll also post some info about the winner on that post, which would be a neat way to also give any link backs to the winner’s blog, book, site, etc., and publicize it to everyone who “comments” and enters the contest! Interesting…

One more neat point: You don’t have to create new links each week! I’m talking about the links you create in Step 1. Once they’re up and live, they’re up and live. Blog posts and comments, forum entries, Tweets, Facebook status messages, etc…. all you have to do is add a “comment” for each to re-enter them (Step 2) in the new post that announces the previous winner and starts the next giveaway round. Of course, you can even make more link backs to increase your chances even more…

Well, how does that sound? Let’s get going then… and good luck!

    Hey, I’m the first :)

Already have your book, Eldon. The best value for the money I’ve spent in a long time. And you ask such a pittance for it.

Anyway, it’s not necessary to put me into the drawing. Already got the book. But I wanted to provide some links anyway. People deserve knowing about WordCash.

    Hello Julie

Thanks for sharing my link on Twitter… you’re entered! BTW, here’s a little tip: If you want to link directly to any specific tweet of yours, just go to your Twitter profile and find the tweet you want to link to. Then, in the lower left corner of the tweet, you’ll see a date or time indicating how long ago you tweeted it. (1 hour ago, 3 Aug 11, etc.). It’ll be a live link — click on it. You’ll be taken to the tweet’s webpage, a page that shows only that tweet. Copy the URL in your browser’s address bar if you want to send people there or draw their attention to it.

For example, the link for your tweet with the Wordpreneur link is:

    https://twitter.com/#!/juliemc77/status/137241037130305536

    Good luck, and thanks again!

I’m not sure how to attach the link, but I did re-tweet you info on roadblocks for Indie writers.
