That strategy seems to be interesting. However, how can kindle or Nook deal with the non-electronic readers? I mean, my grand mother loves to read a lot–but definitely not on e-books. I just think that the strategy is enough to test the market. We have to admit, majority of the planet still prefers to read on paper.
Exactly. It’s a market test strategy on the dirt cheap, as I mentioned. The e-reader market seems to be large enough for the test to be viable… if no buyers at the “e” edition level, unless you’ve got a heck of a reason otherwise, no reason to expect there’ll be any sales with a print edition to be worth the effort and expense. Better to find out on the cheap, before shelling out any bucks on print, even at test quantities.
This is a good thing.
