A slight variation on the Idea/Tip Contest EGAD: Instead of just picking and running the “best of” submissions, run them all. And then let the readers vote on who wins “best of” honors.

Give the winner a prize. Something good to help attract submissions in the first place. Maybe even award 2nd and 3rd prizes.

And although probably not necessary, I would likely also do a random drawing and award one or more of the reader “judges” a prize for voting!

This way, you can build interest — maybe even excitement — front and back.
