EGAD #35 – Get Unique Articles From “Free” Article Authors

Here’s another use for those free article directories besides the EGAD #9 idea: They’re good sources of authors for original and unique niche interest content too.

Instead of doing a callout to freelancers for submissions on a given topic, hit the directories for free articles on the topic. Take note of the good ones (well or adequately written; well-informed, current and accurate; etc. etc. etc.) — prolific is usually good — then contact the authors, asking for fresh, unique content on the topic you’ll include in an ebook. For a percentage of the profits; unlikely anyone’s going to give you unique for free.

Neat how the directories can now serve as a tool for you to easily pre-screen authors. And getting contact info will be a cinch as well — if a directory doesn’t provide that info already (many do), you can always get them from the resource boxes (or bios) that almost always appear at the bottom.

A possible marketing benefit: Since they’ll be getting a piece of the pie, a good number of the authors will very likely start promoting your product on their future free article resource boxes as well.
