With more and more people presenting information in video format, what with the tech making them pretty darned easy to pump out and broadcast online, the fact that not everyone likes to get their info in video (or just in video) makes the demand for text transcripts of such content quite real… and lucrative for those who sell them.

There is no shortage of video sources that could be transcribed — from podcasts to teleseminars to interviews to footage of “live” events, sessions, panels, etc., at conferences… the list goes on.
Just click around. Look for videos that do not have corresponding transcripts available. Or take the initiative and approach conference organizers before their scheduled events. Offer to transcribe footage they’ve captured (or will capture) and package into professional ebooks/ereports. Sell the digital transcripts on your site, and pay a “royalty” for each copy sold.
Costs them nothing. All out of pocket expenditures to produce and maintain the end product rest squarely on your shoulders. Of course, as you’ve probably already realized, it’ll cost you nothing to market and promote the product as well — your “clients” will be sending the transcript customers your way.
Alternatively, you could provide a for-pay transcription/digital publishing service instead. It’s the route to take, at any rate, with the higher risk, lower sales potential projects.
